Hailing from Denver Colorado, Schizo FX creates dark and lush, bass heavy electronic music. This forward-thinking artist has been constantly fine tuning his ideas and production techniques for nearly a decade. His latest studio effort, ‘Forsaken’ is a brand new release where haunting textures blend with heavy broken beats and melancholy vocal samples all coming together over vast sub bass.
Forsaken feels emotional and direct, yet expansive and cinematic. The production aesthetics are blissfully gritty and saturated, with sonics that are reminiscent of the richness of tape and analog gear, combined with the precision of digital production. The beats are sparse and syncopated, leaving room for the soulful vocal samples and low-end energy.
Although Schizo FX is adept at invoking dark atmospheres, Forsaken is also accessible, full of light and appeal, particularly from the vocal sample hooks and the artful arrangements that propel the music forward. In a sea of sound-alike music Schizo FX strikes a different chord. ‘Forsaken’ is full of beauty, heartache and reward for the adventurous listener.
